Tournament: Grand Slam of Slots

If you gamble online even remotely often, there's a good chance you've already heard about this year's Grand Slam of Slots. It's one of the biggest online slots tournaments in history, and probably the most well-promoted. Qualifying tournaments for the Grand Slam of Slots started July 1 and will run through September 30.

Where and how can you win? The event will offer 15,000 seats, and those seats have been distributed in ticket form to dozens of online casinos. Belle Rock Entertainment's four casinos are distributing their 92 tickets via a special slots freeroll promotion called My Gold Ticket. While most of the casinos are using a slot tournament format to award their tickets, some are also giving them away via lotteries, drawings, essay contests, and even a photo contest. Many online casinos have subsidized their Grand Slam of Slots ticket giveaways with other impressive prizes. For example, Microgaming's participating casinos are also giving away cars and cash.

While many Grand Slam of Slots tickets have already been awarded, there are still hundreds of seats left for the taking. So far, we've identified at least three dozen different online casinos that are participating in the promotion. Since most of these casinos are holding qualifiers on a daily basis, you should have no trouble securing not just one but several shots at a Grand Slam seat. As we mentioned above, Belle Rock's four casinos are all participating, as are four of Microgaming's biggest sites. You can find even more participating casinos on the Vegas Partner Lounge's Grand Slam site or simply by searching for the “Grand Slam of Slots Tournament.” Bear in mind that different sites will have different rules. While most of the qualifiers are in freeroll form, some sites are charging members for their chance.

If you're not sure if your favorite site is participating, try using their site search tool. If a search option isn't available, then check their Promotions page. If you're still unsure, log into the game lobby and click on the Tournaments tab. If you haven't found a Grand Slam of Slots event yet, then you may have to switch to another site.

The Grand Slam of Slots Final will take place from October 22 to November 2, and we have a feeling there are going to be a lot of happy people when the last reel stops spinning. That's because the Grand Slam of Slots boasts of an unprecedented €1,300,000 prize pool. The winner will become an instant millionaire, while 499 other players will also pocket anywhere from €100 to €100,000. A ticket holder's odds of winning it all are 1 in 15,000, but their odds of winning at least something (by placing in the top 500) are a mere 1 in 30. Not too shabby!

Ticket-holding contestants will put their slots skills to the test when they play out the final on preselected Tomb Raider: Secret of the Sword machines. Each player will be given 9000 credits and one hour to multiply them. Contestants that are ready to put their money where their mouth is have the option of purchasing unlimited rebuys for €20 a pop. A live leaderboard will report the results throughout the event, and at the end, one player will be a million euros richer.
