The gambling drama "21" narrowly ended the three-week reign of "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!" at the non-US box office last weekend, according to final data issued Monday.
"21," a surprise hit in North America, earned $9.8 million, thanks to a second weekend at No. 1 in Britain with $2 million, and a No. 1 opening in Russia with $1.7 million. "Horton" followed with $9.5 million, and has now tallied $117.5 million internationally.
The Keanu Reeves cop thriller "Street Kings" collared $8.8 million, opening at No. 2 in Australia with $1.4 million. The top choice Down Under was "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" with $1.7 million, the same weekend the raunchy comedy opened at No. 2 in North America.
